Lions start the game without a loss in their last 4 games. Winning 3 and drawing 1 in the process, they start this fixture hoping to keep the momentum going.

Freddie takes his usual place in goal, Miller missed last week but is immediately thrown back into the back line alongside Mr reliable Alfie, Ronny in his usual role of right wing, captain fantastic keaton starts on the left whilst Theo H and Leighton the terrier make up the front line. Star striker Layton the only absentee and Alex and Theo E take a seat at the side chomping at the bit to get on.

 

A very fast start from both sides and end to end stuff in the early stages, early chances fall to 3ds but Freddie remains on his toes and is out to gather up.

 

This game is very much you have a go we have a go with end to end stuff, 3ds open the scoring though with a low drive past Freddie into the bottom left hand corner. Not enough men back for Lions there keep that one out.

Lions reply almost immediately, a great bit of solo play down the left from keaton, his pace like lightning and too much for 3ds defence, one on one with the goalkeeper, a right footed shot which nestles into the bottom right. Keaton wheels away in jubilation, he's got his side back into this almost immediately it's 1-1.

Lions continue the half looking comfortable, no real threat from 3ds, Lions continue to press and loon dangerous, Theo on 2 occasions and keaton once more have chances to extend the lead but are unlucky to be denied.

 

1-1 half time and this game really setup for what is expected to be a mouth watering second half. Changes at the break as Theo E is called upon, Alex is also introduced.

 

Second half kicks off, Lions looking a little bit too deep and 3ds take advantage of that and press high up the pitch, it was like this for the majority of the second half, Lions literally throwing their bodies on the line and defend for their lives. 3ds close to being in front 3 times. Only for some excellent bits of individual brilliance from Theo H, Ronny and keaton who all clear off the line. Lions did have their chances first one, Leighton takes the ball forward out of sight of the 3ds defence, Alfie to the right of him, all it needed was a nice pass to the side and Alfie would have been through on goal but Leighton is dispossessed and 3ds taking the ball back the other way. Chance number 2 with theo H, runs the ball down the wing, on his own in bags of space but at a very acute angle, Leighton in the box setup for a tap in but Theo takes it on himself and the ball goes wide of the target. 5 minutes from time 3ds pin lions into their own half again the ball pinged around in the box like a pin ball is cleared by keaton, unfortunately it falls to a 3ds player who hits a scruffy shot which hits the arm of Miller and deflects into the goal leaving Freddie no chance. Its 2-1.

 

Final whistle goes and 3ds take the win, but many positives for Lions with what looked like the best defensive performance they have played with having to be under the cosh for the majority of that second half. Some excellent performances all round from the lions players. Keaton takes man of the match though, well deserved after his excellent goal, he fought like a lion all the way through the game covering miles of the pitch. Very unlucky from the boys. A tough game next week against brendan Bees, lions will be hoping to get some revenge after losing their opening game of the season 5-2 against them. Tune in next week.
