Lions start this game knowing that they lost in their opening game of the season against Bees, 5-2 the score, Bees players very quick to remind the Lions players in the pre match handshake whilst they attempt to make a mockery by insisting "you  are rubbish, we beat you last time!" so Lions lost the battle last time but can they win the war as they attempt revenge over a club which quite frankly have no class. One final word from Chris and Andy as they call the players in for one last bit of tactical advice, the words are simple."did you hear what they just said boys? Go out there and show them what we are about, remember that all the way through the game and wipe the floor with them!"

 

Lions start the game with Freddie in goal, Miller and Alfie continue at the back, they really have been like a brick wall since they have been paired together. Captain fantastic keaton on the left, rocket Ronny on the right, Theo H upfront whilst Leighton the terrier plays just infront.

 

Lions get us underway and immediately taking possession into the Bees half, early chances falling to keaton and Theo H but not too much to trouble the keeper. Bees looking to return the favour by hitting Lions on the break but nothing to write home about as Miller and Alfie mop up with ease.

 

Lions take the lead though, it's a great bit of individual brilliance from keaton, runs down the left hand side looking to take on the Bees defenders, the ball is cut out but keaton manages to win it back through his sheer determination, the ball breaks forward, keaton chases and lashes a right footed shot which goes underneath the keeper for 1-0. Brilliant!

Not many more chances in the first half, mainly a game which is battled around the midfield area from both sides. However just before half time keaton releases Leighton who steams through 1 on 1 with the goalkeeper, OUCH he is hacked down by the Bees defender, it's a sore one for Leighton but a freekick in a dangerous position, Theo H stands over it.

Takes a deep breath..... Right footed strike, over the bar. Not this time. Its half time with Lions clearly the better side but only the one goal to separate at the minute.

 

A great half from Lions and you have to say not expected but they will definately take this, instructions are clear again from Chris and Andy, keep going, keep the pressure on but keep it tight at the back and remember what they said to you at the start!!

 

Changes are made, Theo E and Layton are thrown into the mixer. Alex deployed onto the right wing, Miller and Ronny take a breather.

 

Second half kicks off, Lions really working hard to increase the lead but having to be extremely careful at the back. Chances again falling to Keaton and Theo H, even young Theo E getting in on the act, only to be denied by some great goalkeeping. Finally Lions threaten again, a great ball from Theo H is played through to Leighton S at pace, nice touch, turns and releases Layton W with a great pass.... Layton runs, he's away, is it going to be.... Nope he's run it too far wide.... Oh no he's not he slams it in at the tightest of angles, passed the Bees goalkeeper who has no chance, what a goal, Layton has that look in his eyes (you dare drop me to the bench, I'll show you) great goal, 2-0 and lions cruising.

Bees try so hard to get back into this but are unable to break Lions stubborn defense down, Lions continue to push they are not done yet, Theo E is flying into everything here, I must say since he has come on he has looked a real handful, has another chance to score but its blocked just as the ball was picking up pace and about to be directed into the bottom right hand corner. Unlucky.

Bees clear their lines and hammer the ball up the other end. Its intercepted by Alfie, keeper off his line, Alfie looks, he ponders.... Yes I'll have that, he shoots.... Everything appears to go in slow motion, the ball hammered towards goal.... Everyone watches as the ball spins through the air.... Surely not.... It is!!! He's done it!!! What a goal from Alfie, oh my that was special! All the way from the half way line and an absolute nailed on goal for goal of the season, he's delighted as he celebrates with his team mates!!!! That's it!!! Bragging rights are with Hey with Lions.... I guess Bees players are feeling a little stupid right now, they have lost the game 3-0 to a superior Lions team who just wouldn't back down. Great game, great performance from Lions. Maybe they shouldnt have said Lions were rubbish eh??

 

3-0 final score, lions really building momentum now, another win notched on the belt, 3 wonderful goals, keaton first, layton second and and absolute beauty from Alfie. All round brilliant performance but an absolute quality performance from young Theo E. He claims man of the match.
