Lions win back to back games for the first time this season

Lions start this game with a fully fit squad to choose from, leaving Coach Chris with a selection headache.

Freddie starts in goal, high on confidence due to last weeks clean sheet, a back line of Alfie and Miller look sure to steady the ship, Captain fantastic Keaton is back to full fitness and goes out to the left flank, Rocket Ronny plays on the opposite side hoping to inject some pace into this line up, Theo H makes a rare start upfront, whilst Leighton S, The Terrier plays just infront of Theo in hope of frightening the opposition with his energy!

Lions start the game on the front foot, doing what they do so well by pegging Signol in their own half, an early injury scare for Lions in the first 5 though as Keaton approaches the bench, but lucky for the team its just a stitch, Alex replaces him and is immediately sent in the thick of things in attack.

It appears very much an onslaught on the opposition goal as Lions continue to pepper Signol Athletics goalkeeper with shots from all angles, only for Lions shooting not to be quite accurate they could already be 3 up as Theo H strikes the post, Leighton The Terrier looking as active as ever and Rocket Ronny certainly looking in the mood.

Keaton feeling good now and a double change, Theo E is thrown into the mix in place of Leighton, Keaton comes on for Ronny and immediately Keaton gets on the ball, Runs down the left at pace leaving the Signol defenders chasing behind, he strokes a beautiful pass in to Theo H who does it the target this time, with a thumping strike into the bottom left hand corner 1-0 to Lions and you have to say its no more than they deserve.

A big chance for Signol rght before the close of the half, Lions defence caught at 6's and 7's leaves Freddie with it all to do in a 1 v 1 scenario, but Freddie eats up the opportunity making it look so easy and leaves Lions with a slender lead to take in at half time.

The message from Coach Chris at half time, very much the same, continue to do what you have done so far, but dont get caught out on the counter.

Lions re enter the field and again continue to cause Signol problems, Keaton, Theo H, Alex, Theo E all have shots saved, missed and blocked. Again Lions unlucky not to have a 2 goal cushion.

Lions continue to prod at the vulnerable Signol defence, this time Keaton decides he wants a piece of that cake, he goes on a great solo run, a one two with Theo H and Keaton executes a great finish into the centre of the goal leaving the keeper absolutely no chance and surely that wraps up the points now!

Changes are made by Lions again to keep everyone fresh and give everyone a decent game, they had to remain switched on  twice more before the close of the game, Freddie again comes up with the goods to keep that clean sheet in tact, but also you have to say, what an addition Alfie has been to that defence, his confidence and bravery really hasn't gone un-noticed.

Finally the whistle blows, the second consecutive win for Lions for the first time this season, they sit licking their lips at the position they find themselves in, you have to say momentum seems to be building after two great games in a row after the disaster of a loss a couple of weeks ago, its clear the boys have all pulled their socks up, but what a performance from young Freddie today he will certainly be happy.

Andy was away from the action this week due to work commitments but did find some time in his busy schedule to come and visit the boys in his Police car, see gallery for those great photos.
