We originally started out as part of a Football Club called Santos at U7 Level.
The original team consisted of Layton W, Miller followed next. Miller's Dad was part of the coaching setup for this season and helped form a great group of players. Santos had too many players for one team, so it was discussed and agreed that the team would be divided into two and players would need to be recruited to facilitate 2 teams. This formed Santos United and Santos City.
Miller and Layton W were the starting players at Santos City, they were followed by Hey with Zion School friends Keaton, Alfie and Leighton. Being a new club we didnt get off to a great start in our first couple of fixtures, it was never going to be easy and Coach Chris Murfitt adapted the philosophy that Rome wasn't built in a day.
The club started to take shape now as they adapted to the league, they managed to find a draw to put the heavy defeats behind them and then came their first win!
It was now time to bring in some more talent to help drive this team forward. Theo H and Alex were next to follow and you guessed it, more Hey with Zion friends.
The boys really started to become a force together by now, forming a formindable team and even managing to go on throughout the year undefeated.
Coach Chris Murfitt looked on, requiring more additions to the team in preperation for the new season and again, what better place to look than Hey with Zion for more friends.
Logan, Theo E and Freddie followed on as preperations were well and truly under way for the new season.
Discussions took place with Coaches and parents regarding the possibility of parting from Santos and building a new club. It was agreed by all and foundations started to be put in place to form what would be "Hey with Lions"
